On June 14, Flag Day, Rachel Donelson Chapter, dedicated an America 250! park bench at Nathanael Greene Park, which is named after Washington's esteemed general and the naming of our county. The land was donated for our
county's bicentennial. The bench, located in the Sensory Garden, is near a playground, the
Botanical Center, and Master Garden area. About 200 in attendance enjoyed this Patriotic Party in the Park with a brass band, SAR Color Guard, performance by the Kilties and Lassies Drum & Bugle Corps, greetings from park officials, Lisa Parks State Regent, and featured speaker, Bob
Dixon, Presiding Greene County Commissioner. We gave out @300 items of flags, pinwheels, fans, bracelets, flag
lapel pins, etc.
